Create A Morning Ritual

SunriseI have a very hard time getting started in the morning (or the afternoon for some). Getting my mind into working mode takes longer than I would like.

As I mentioned in my introductory post, I believe in rituals. Rituals are a way to give your mind a rest or to get you mind in the mode that it needs to be. Because of that, I think a morning ritual may be the most important ritual you can have.

Currently, my morning ritual consists of oil pulling and drinking water. While both are good and healthy for you, they have nothing to do with getting your mind right.

I want to figure out a way to start the day well everyday. I looked at different posts and articles regarding morning rituals. They all pretty much say the same thing. They tout the benefits of morning rituals and then make similar suggestions about what to add. Drink water, meditate, plan, exercise, have a good breakfast, etc.

So, here’s my morning ritual plan:

  • Thank God For Another Day
  • Oil Pull
  • Drink Water
  • Deep Breathing
  • Meditative Writing
  • Intention Setting
  • Top 3
  • Stretching
  • Breakfast

It’s rather long so I don’t know if this will work out or if I will end up looking for other things but I know that a morning ritual is super important so I will be working on it. I will go into why I’ve chosen each of these steps in my next post.
